The Development of India’s Strongest Political Weapon: Caste
We live in a “democratic” era in the 21st century (that’s what they’re calling it, isn’t it?). Unlike the medieval age of kings and queens whose ascension depended on their bloodline, today’s leaders have to be elected.
And each one of those “leaders” tries their tricks to win elections. The 2020 US elections were all about conservatism taking on socialism. In the same way, every country has its political weapon that politicians use to get into power.
In India, there is only one weapon that rules all. Generations of politicians have passed this down as it continues to be the deciding factor in Indian politics: Caste.
Now what you read next might sound a little phobic or extremist or anti-secular, but the fact of the matter is, it’s the truth. Although India has over 23 recognized languages, it is called Hindustan in most of its native languages.
The term Hindustan means ‘Land of Hindus’ (Hindu-referring to the religion, Stan- meaning land)
